About Derek

Derek Martindale has been a CRNA (nurse anesthetist) since 2014, when he earned his Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Medical University in South Carolina. He has been a registered nurse since 2009. He has worked in trauma, as Chief of a colonoscopy center, and in pediatrics/obstetrics. He is passionate about learning and particularly enjoys precepting student registered nurse anesthetists. 
Derek enlisted in the US Air Force in 2004 to serve the country, then was commissioned in 2011 as a flight nurse, stationed at Joint Base Charleston, SC. His service in Charleston has included multiple deployments. Currently he’s the Chief of Stan/Eval in the 315th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, responsible for approximately 50 flight-nurse checkrides annually. Derek also has a passion for caring for first responders, veterans, and healthcare workers. 
Derek is excited to be with Revitalist, as he has already found it to be rewarding. He thoroughly enjoys working alongside others to promote health, wellness, and healing. He enjoys physical fitness and has completed two half Ironman races. He hopes to complete a full Ironman someday. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family.
